We can do a lot with tiny masterpieces. We cannot, unfortunately, make a dark blurry photo taken under the kitchen table behave like a professional scan. Give us the cleanest file you can.
White or pale paper gives the cleanest background and helps the artwork stay bright.
Strong crayons, textas, paint and pencils generally reproduce better than extremely faint marks.
Use bright natural light, keep the page flat and avoid phone/camera shadows across the artwork.
Make sure the full artwork is visible and not accidentally cropped at the edges.
Add their name, handwritten signature, age or date if you want the full future-tears effect.
Stamps, stickers, photographed glitter details and mixed-media artwork can add even more personality.
Print one of our free artwork sheets and hand it to the small creative director. Keep the main artwork inside the outline and we’ll resize it to suit the product. No printer? That’s okay too — ordinary light paper works beautifully.

There is no minimum order, so this works for one tiny artist or a group project. For multiple artworks, place the order and send your clearly named files by a file-sharing link with the order number. SPATZ can also help with simple class or special-occasion artwork templates.

No. Plain white or light paper is ideal, and ordinary crayons, textas, pencils and paint can work beautifully. The strongest results usually come from artwork with clear lines and good colour contrast.
Absolutely. You do not have to use the SPATZ template. Photograph or scan an existing drawing, painting or crafty creation and upload the file with your order.
Yes. Take the photo in bright, even light with the artwork lying flat. Avoid shadows, blur and cropping, and make sure the whole drawing is clearly visible.
Yes. You can add their name as part of the order, and handwritten names, signatures, dates or messages can also be included inside the uploaded artwork itself.
Current options include a 20.5 cm regular melamine plate, a 25.4 cm large melamine plate, a 12 × 4.3 × 9.5 cm bowl and a 400 ml melamine mug with handle.
The current Design Your Own range runs from $17.95 to $32.95 depending on the item selected. Optional extras such as a plate stand or Rush production are additional. Check the product page for the current total before ordering.

Yes. The product can be used for one child or class/group projects. For larger sets of files, order first and send the artwork using a clearly organised file-sharing link with your order number.
The personalised dinnerware is BPA-free melamine and is listed as top-shelf dishwasher safe. Follow the individual product care and use instructions supplied with your order.
